Opening up a conversation about race and racism is never an easy task, especially in the light of the most recent natural disaster. Still, in the spirit of progress somebody has to step forward. Today, that somebody is going to have to be me.

            Hip Hop 4 Haiti drew a great response from many sponsors that genuinely wanted to help contribute to the cause in any possible way that they could. In recent NYC events, a benefit was held in Harlem in a conscious effort to raise money to provide aid to the Haiti relief fund. For this specific event, it was AllHipHop.com that offered to help pool talent and provide for some of the more well known performers for the concert. Being that this event was held in such a place of cultural importance and integrity, it had such a potential to stand out as a collective statement of positivity, unity, and hope. Unfortunately the host, a lesser known activist that goes by the name NY O.I.L., allowed his own loosely organized but powerfully militant agenda to ensue.           .
Ironic right? Usually when one thinks of something as being militant it would only make sense that there would be a strict presence of organization. Unfortunately that wasn’t so. Overly aggressive and unsettling in his stage presence I honestly believe that most only weathered the storm and let him carry on because, after-all, it was for a good cause- at least that’s what it said on the flyer.

I, however, was thoroughly confused primarily by the mixed messages of more than a few of the performers that he actually introduced. One in particular, I actually forgot his name, got on stage and started ranting quite militantly, “We need to stop letting these crackers kill our black babies! They’ve been doing this for years over in Africa!..” In his 10 minute “performance” it was very unclear to me whether I had attended a benefit for Haiti or if I had somehow been teleported back in time to attend a black power/civil rights rally. Thank god he brought his speech back to the current situation at hand because his statements were deeply offending to me not only as an educated historian in African American History but also as a regular human being that isn’t black working in Hip-Hop promoting a unified cause.

Living in the year 2010, yes I do acknowledge that there is still much work that needs to be done with respect to overcoming mentally institutionalized racism. However, to take a stage and deliver an outdated speech complete with blatantly racist remarks against an entire people not of your skin color makes you no different than those that did the same exact thing in the 1800’s. Completely disrespectful and unprofessional to say the least. It also discredits and attempts to negate everything monumental that Malcolm X and Martin Luther King Jr. became historical icons for in the 1960’s.

            NY O.I.L. later came back on stage to completely disrespect every performer that came out to show their love and support for a good cause by ranting, “Just because you got a little buzz going on or a hot single on the radio doesn’t mean you’re better than anyone else here. I’m sure I can pass the mic to a number of people in this room and they can spit a hot 16 just like you can, maybe even better.” First of all, I’d like to know, what even warranted that statement? Someone really just sounded like a hater….

              Completely irritated by his lack of respect for the hard work of just about every other person in that room that was not his homie, I had to do some research in an attempt to gain a better understanding of who this man is and why he is so angry… It came to my attention that the infamous NY O.I.L. had a little rap career a few years back.. He even had a video put out for a single titled, “Ya’ll Should All Get Lynched.” The track (released around the same time that rapper Nas released Hip Hop is Dead) called for the lynching of a number of major label rappers. The video was banned from YouTube because of its graphic depictions of slavery, lynching, and minstrelsy coupled with pictures of rap stars including 50 Cent and Three Six Mafia. Ironically, according to his bio in Wikipedia, the acronym in his name NY O.I.L. stands for “New York’s Original International Lover.”

            Although I am in no way shape or form a spokesperson for AllHipHop.com or any of the other sponsors, speaking from a purely business and publicity point of view, I wouldn’t be surprised if I wasn’t the only person embarrassed for this host and his attention-seeking maneuvers on the stage that night. I’d really like to give a special shout out to all of the hosts across the country that held thoughtful and entertaining benefit concerts, most notably Chicago. I heard you were all awesome!! Shout out to all of the real activists out there! ☺ -Anabelly

Dear MTV,

   GTFOH. Let me start off by saying I place no credibility in MTV's Hottest MCs in the Game list whatsoever, but since they put it out there I'm going to speak my piece. I mean what does MTV know about any music in 2009 anyway. Let alone rap music. Now if was the hottest reality tv shows, then maybe I'd take their word for it. But I digress. MTV's "braintrust" has the right to put whomever they want on their list so I won't complain about who they decided to include. I actually agree with most of the artist on the list. But it's who they didn't include that has caused a stir. I, like many others, have no idea how Mr. Marshall Mathers was not included on this list. Sigh... I voiced my opinion about this on twitter soon after the top 5 was released and i just brushed the whole thing off. Then MTV had the nerve to attempt to explain why he didn't make the list.

            "Eminem's ranking was one of the most discussed topics at the Roundtable. His hotly anticipated return to hip-hop after a
             long absence drove first-week sales of over 600,000 — the highest first-week sales of the year so far. He granted a handful
   of select interviews here and abroad, and was part of a massive moment with Sacha Baron Cohen at the MTV Movie Awards.

             But then Em retreated to the lab, where he spent the summer crafting Relapse 2. From June to September, Em all but took
             himself out of the public eye, while other MCs generated week-to-week heat with mixtapes, guest appearances, performances

             "Forever" (also featuring Kanye West and Lil Wayne). The song's move into heavy rotation came subsequent to our roundtable.

           Excuse me. So you mean to tell me that despite having the best selling rap album so far this year(almost 1.5 million units moved since May), having the years biggest 1st week sales(608,000 units), having broken the first week digital sales record back in February when 'Crack A Bottle sold 418,000 units in 7 days, and then topping it off by winning your own Video Music Award for 'Best Hip Hop video, he still doesn't make it? You say 'Forever's "move into heavy rotation came subsequent to the roundtable", but that song was on the nets well before it moved into heavy rotation and if you needed to hear it more than one time to realize that Mr. Mathers verse was second to none of the others, than you probably shouldn't have been included in this process.

               So let me see because he "took himself out of the public eye" from June to September and "kept his profile low" that's a good enough reason to exclude him? No disrespect to Raekwon because I purchased and love OBFCL2 but the buzz around the cd only lasted a couple months and prior to the promotional push for the cd I don't recall Rae being in "the public view" all that much. And Rick Ross? He may of been "in the public view" for a few months earlier this year surrounding the release of his album, but what else? And let's not get started on 50's lackluster performance as of late. I mean the 2 mixtapes he dropped were average at best. Best thing he did all year was Pimpin Curly. So having a popular website makes you a hot MC? I mean what's next? You guys going to give a female the VMA for video of the year , but not the VMA for female video of the year? Oh, wait never-mind. Sigh... In closing, Dear MTV GTFOH!

Back Like I Never Left

Wow, Is this thing on? What has it been about a month now? Damn that's my bad, but had some changes in my life and didn't have the time to blog. I think I'm back now though.Hopefully for good. So let's see what's been going on. The Blueprint 3 = Great Album. Platinum after 3 weeks on the charts. OBFCL 2 = Another great album. Obviously wont do the numbers that Jay does, but pretty solid from start to end and had pretty good first week numbers. Loving the Ghostface cd. It did horrible numbers but the I can play that cd pretty much straight through. (Gotta skip the singles sometimes and the Ron Browz joint gets no plat whatsoever) I could really kill @InfNYC for letting that make the final cut. Anyway, that's about it for new cd's. I heard the "Mixtape Weezy" has a new mix cd dropping early next month called "No Ceilings" If yo follow me on twitter then you know that allegedly its going to feature no autotune and no features. I have a homie on the business side of Young Money, so I'm looking forward to hearing that way before most people.

The Mrs. got us tickets to the Jay-z show on the 27th for my bday so I might do a full rundown of that if I get around to it. Looking forward to that show. I haven't seen Jay live in a few years and stage show has improved so much so I want to see it firsthand. Also excited to see Wale and J.Cole, who are opening up for him along with N.E.R.D. ans Lupe. I"m a Lupe fan as well, but I"m going to be seeing his show this weekend at Towson University's Homecoming concert. Keri Hilson was supposed to headline, but she cancelled. Actually I'm only going because Wish is opening up for him and I have to go support that.(Tickets still available on ticketmaster) Speaking of Wish, she is currently back in the studio with Donny Roc working on the follow up to "Skool Gurl Diaries" Its coming sooner than later so look out for it.

Currently working on 2 projects with MR.22-5. "Block Work" w/ Dj Jabril and of course "Grind Hard or Find God: Special Edition" We have a lot of producers and other rappers interested in working with us on these 2 cds, so we are moving right along. "Block Work" should be out this quarter, with SE to follow at the top of 2010.

Also working on this "Friendly Competition" cd with Fuze b vs. Mark Milly. 6 tracks each, going at each other and its turning out nice. Look for that, along with individual cds form both of them coming this quarter. Also my man Freddie Mac has that "Insufficient Funds" cd coming in January too.

Had to get all that out of the way. I'm actually leaving out a few projects but more on those at a later date. See i haven't just been not blogging for the sake of not blogging. Been bust over here and that's not even the half of what I'm up to. If you follow me on twitter, like you should be, then you can keep up with with my various day to day activities that i don't or won't talk about here. I mean i didn't make RapRadar's Top 100 on Twitter for nothing. Alright, I think we are all caught up for the most part. There are some other thing I want to touch on, but I'll save them for another post....

Rumored 'Relapse 2 Release Date

Eminem's Relapse 2 has shown up on Amazon UK with the release date of November 16th for the 2nd part of Marshall's comeback. The date hasn't been confirmed, but Amazon is usually good about these things and Em did say the second part would be out before the end of the year. The date would make sense since the UK usually releases cd's one day before the US and Nov. 17th is a Tuesday. Guess we will know soon enough.

I had the chance to go out to DonnyRoc's Burn Tha Mic Concert Series last weekend to see a lot of good talent perform. A lot of industry people and good friends were in the building and it was a great show. Most notably I got another chance to see my good friend Wish tear down stage again. We've all been there. Your friends convince you to come out the club only to find that DJ Wackmaster Wack is spinning shit mix 2009. There have been many times where I've looked up at the DJ booth and mouthed the words "this shit is terrible." Apparently the DJs never hear me because the next song is usually "Crank Dat" by Soulja Boy. It is possible to survive these nights but it always hits a point where you can't take it anymore. Here are 10 Songs That Let You Know It's Time To Leave The Club.

10. HOUSE OF PAIN "JUMP AROUND"

Without fail this song always plays when I'm just about to seal the deal with a hot college chick. The worst part is the drunk girl then usually proceeds to grind up on me and try to dance (off beat as fuck) to lyrics like "I'll never eat a pig cause a pig is a cop." Nobody paid cover to watch a bunch of drunk morons "Jump Around." It also kills whatever vibe is going around the room and prompts women to start dancing in circles thus making it harder to infiltrate. Try and stop me from leaving when this plays.

9. MONTELL JORDAN "THIS IS HOW WE DO IT"

I do like this song but unfortunately it has been high jacked by drunk frat boys who use it as warm up music before their push up competitions. Seriously, I couldn't even count how many times some douche in an American Eagle polo has spilled a drink on me while this song was playing. White dudes who don't listen to Hip-Hop on the regular love that there is a song where they actually know the Rap portion by heart. It makes them feel like it's ok to grind up on some girl quickly forgetting they dance like this:

Strickly My Opinion: Ja Rule "The Mirror"

Sooooo, over the weekend along with Slaughterhouse's album, Crooked I' "The Art of The Freestlye Vol. 2", and a few other mix cds, I downloaded Ja Rule's new/old cd "The Mirror". Now anyone who knows me knows that I was a big supporter of Jeffrey even before he was signed to DefJam (via Murder Inc, now The Inc). Back when Murder Inc. was originally a group comprised of Ja, DMX, and Jay-z. I'm talking before X or Jay-z had Def Jam behind them to push the button on their careers. I actually still own every Ja cd from "Venni Vetti Vecci" to "R.U.LE." A lot of people stopped listening to Ja because a guy named Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson told them to. I never stopped listening to Ja but grew very tired of every song he put out being a pop song and not a rap track.(mind you today that wouldn't matter because there is almost no line between the two). I wanted that hardcore rap that I had come to love from the mixtapes and that you could find buried in the albums, but all that was being pushed or played were the commercial pop hits. Now I understand why this was the route they took but I wasn't feeling it.

The second reason I stopped checking for Jeffrey was because I lost a little respect for him over the whole "battle" with 50. It wasn't even the fact that he "lost" the battle. He should have just stayed in his lane and kept doing what he was both known for doing and what he was making money doing. It was cool when he made his diss tracks for the mix cds and all but, to allow another man to play you out of your position was just not a good look. I mean he let 50 affect an entire cd worth of material and that cd ,"Blood In My Eye", was not only horrible, but sold the least amount of units than any of his releases. In any case you know how the rest of the story plays out.

Fast forward some 5 or 6 years later and Ja is just known as 50's come up. The butt of joke after joke. Ja has been quietly playing the background. I mean this album was due to be released over a year ago and even had 2 singles(one featuring Lil Wayne at that) and failed to gain any momentum. On the other end 50 Cent seems to be going through similar growing pains. I mean it took what 5 singles before his last cd gained any traction? And this new cd, "Before I Self Destruct" (which is due to drop next month) still doesn't have a lead single or any buzz
surrounding it.

Back to "The Mirror", I attempted to sit and listen to this cd 4 times over the weekend. Every time I started to listen I was either distracted, interrupted, or just plain lost interest after a couple tracks in. I finally forced myself to listen to it in its entirety today while driving and its actually not horrible. Let me explain. You see, its not that Ja can't rap anymore, its that I don't want to hear Ja rap anymore. I'm just not interested. This cd sounds just like previous Ja cd's. (sans the big name features) The problem with that is I don't know if that is a good or bad thing. I mean all of his previous cds except "Blood In My Eye" moved units using the same blueprint/formula. Hell, even "R.U.L.E." was certified gold and that was his worse cd(again,except "Blood In My Eye"). The problem here is that Ja was before his time. Had he been a new artist with this same type of "sing-songy" flow a couple years ago, he would be praised and critically acclaimed for being "innovative" and "a breath of fresh air". But because he has been doing this for years, and because most of us are now tired of this new influx of rappers trying to sing, it doesn't work. Look what happened to Nelly and even 50 to a certain extent. I mean as much as the "innanets" love Weezy F. Baby, he's even getting some backlash over all the singing. Same with Kanye West. Lets be real, Ja is one of the few rappers that can actually sing without the help of auto tune and could effortlessly transition between rapping and singing, but in order for him to move units today he'd have to have a reality show on vh1 or find a way to get the original Murder Inc. (Ja, Jay-z, DMX) back together. Yea, I'd bet on the former too...

Starting today, on-line retailers are going to begin offering pre-orders for the DJ Hero Renegade Edition game. I've played the final version of this game, and it's really a blast. I'm not going to be surprised if this thing is the hardest-to-get-gift this holiday season, so it might not hurt to get your order in early. So, what's the difference between this version of the game and the regular one? This edition comes with a stand for the turntable that has telescoping legs to adjust the height, as well as a carrying case. The case, which is styled after and feels like a real DJ road-case "coffin", doubles as the top of the stand.

And, this version of the game comes with a special 2-cd set of Jay-Z and Eminem music. I can't reveal everything that will be on the discs (partially because we are still working on it), but there will definitely be some exclusive and new things. The artwork for these CD's is spectacular as well... details later.

But they would have to be lyricists to make that type of impression, like, a true emcee.

RA the MC is bringing back rap for all those who can reproduce, birthing what hip-hop heads feel has been absent from a woman's perspective---true artistry. Now being the first female MC to grace the stage with the cast of the Generation NEXT tour, RA's musical craft along with her super persona makes for a well-rounded show on July 31st at Europa Nightclub in Brooklyn.

"It's always dope to have a female presence on any show," said RA. "I honestly try not to look at the female part at the end of the day, but I know I can probably hang with most of the male MC's."

That means rocking the stage with her DMV counter-parts, M1 Platoon, who will release they're 5th independent project "We Not Them- pt. III."

RA won't be the only woman on set. Carlitta Durand, the r&b songstress who travels with the cranking live band known as Fat Snacks, has been the only female artist thus far in a crew of nearly fifteen men.

"It hasn't been hard though, probably because I work around family." says Durand as she thinks about her tenure in the industry. "All the men that I work with, I consider family, like M1 Platoon and Phonte, Little Brother. I've been treated well...been smooth sailing," she says smilingly.

Who you work with counts for everything. With Judah, one of the best producers in the DMV and counting, supporting RA on the Strange Music label, she takes on a lot of the heat surrounding artists of her caliber...and of her gender.

"I'm competing with so many women that thinks the 'sex-sells' rap is the only way to go," says RA. "The whole stigma of just being a female rapper makes me compete even harder...."

"....while everyone is going the sexed-up route, I'm doing the opposite."

Artists Find Backers as Labels Wane

There was a time when most aspiring musicians had the same dream: to sign a deal with a major record label.

Now, with the structure of the music business shifting radically, some industry iconoclasts are sidestepping the music giants and inventing new ways for artists to make and market their music — without ever signing a traditional recording contract.

The latest effort comes from Brian Message, manager of the alternative band Radiohead, which gave away its last album, “In Rainbows,” on the Internet. His venture, called Polyphonic, which was announced this month, will look to invest a few hundred thousand dollars in new and rising artists who are not signed to record deals and then help them create their own direct links to audiences over the Internet.

“Artists are at the point where they realize going back to the old model doesn’t make any sense,” Mr. Message said. “There is a hunger for a new way of doing things.”

Polyphonic and similar new ventures are symptomatic of deep shifts in the music business. The major labels — Sony Music, Warner Music, EMI and Universal Music — no longer have such a firm grip on creating and selling professional music and minting hits with prime placement on the radio.

Drake: From teen TV star to rap royalty

By any modern measure of musical popularity -- YouTube views, radio airplay, ring-tone ubiquity -- the single "Best I Ever Had" by Toronto rapper Drake is not only a hit, it's arguably 2009's "Song of the Summer." Since debuting on iTunes last month, the hip-hop lust track has sold 600,000 digital downloads and topped three separate pop charts. Even if you can't summon to mind its rap-sung vocals or brassy syncopated beat, you've probably heard "Best I Ever Had" blaring out of a convertible somewhere.

Less than a year ago, Drake was basically a zero in the music world, unsigned and virtually unknown as a rhyme-sayer. But thanks to some out-of-the-box branding efforts by several of the best-connected marketing executives in the urban world and the institutional backing of his mentor, rap superstar Lil Wayne, Drake landed two songs in the Top 10 this month -- "Best I Ever Had" as a solo artist and "Every Girl" as part of the rap group Young Money. He had already amassed a devoted fan base before he'd even landed a record deal.

Every Song of Summer has a saga behind it. And Drake's breakthrough arrives as a happy accident built on plenty of high-level networking, a label bidding war and an astonishing degree of cooperation among rap world big shots. Chief among them, Drake's career overseers: the heads of the New York management firm Hip Hop Since 1978 and Cortez Bryant, Lil Wayne's longtime manager.

"They have given me one of the greatest situations in hip-hop," Drake, 22, said of his team.

Under the unusually lucrative agreement he struck with Aspire/Young Money/Cash Money Records distributed through Universal, Drake received a $2-million advance. He retains the publishing rights to his songs and cedes only around 25% of his music sales revenues to the label as a "distribution fee," his managers said. By contrast, the overwhelming majority of new artists sign financially restrictive "360 deals" that sap their touring and merchandise income and offer much more restrictive profit-sharing.

A dissection of how the rapper was able to drive such a hard bargain underscores an evolution in the music industry. At a time when CD sales have declined by 15% over last summer's numbers and major labels remain more fixated on scoring hit singles than sustaining artist rosters, managers such as those working with Drake have stepped into the void to become king-makers in urban music.

"The record company doesn't have any ownership of Drake," Bryant said. "The label does not have participation on profits. They don't have ownership of his masters. We control his entire career. Those deals don't happen anymore."

was blessed wih the opportunity to hear the complete copy of Raekwon's "Only Built For Cuban Linx 2" and has a pretty good review of it.

A few hours ago, I had the pleasure of being the only blogger/journalist/anyone who has had a chance to listen to the much anticipated “Only Built For Cuban Linx 2″. Every since speaking with Raekwon the last time he was in town, I’ve been very excited to hear this project and honestly, it doesn’t disappoint.Below are just some of my thoughts. At this stage, I don’t have titles for the tracks but do have most of the features and production credits. Hope you enjoy it

The album starts with a skit. The beat is soulful, very smooth. A voice that begins to speak. Its Papa Wu and he’s speaking to the rapper.

“Yo Rae, that you baby, heard all these things about you … we went through so many trials and tribulation, watch the people that cheat you”. Not only is Papa Wu dropping knowledge, but he reminds the listener just how far the rapper from Staten has come.Already from the sound of the track and the opening skit, it sets up a mature album without the raw, gritty sound we are familiar with on Only Built For Cuban Linx. Rae has gone through so much and hes taken it in his stride.

Track 1

Starts off with the classic Shaolin fighting sounds. I think to myself, this is a RZA beat. As the upbeat track is in full flow, I’m still thinking this is a RZA beat. I’m completely wrong, its actually a J-Dilla beat. Already bopping my head, Rae fires some dope rhymes and some swagger “I’ve always been an ill dude”. Ghostface then rolls through and adds some style. Method Man is also featured on this joint. This is the album version, but the single version which will drop next week will have GZA on the hook. Its called “Flying Daggers”

Track 2

Pete Rock produces this next street and grimey track. Its a street tale and its vintage Raekwon.He’s looking to make that paper. One line he raps “I haven’t got my money yet”

The third track on the album features Erick Sermon. It has good chemistry. This is followed by what I’m guessing will be called “Its cold outside”. It has the hook from Rainy Days “Its cold outside” but essentially the track is about Raekwon and everything he’s faced from his street life, his music right through to the present. It also features Ghostface.

Track 6 on the album is produced by the legendary RZA with a rich sounding record. “That black Mozart shit right here”, that’s a lyric that sums up the track.

This is followed by a skit with Raekwon flossing. “yo where them Levi’s at”. He picks out some Gucci.

Then the album goes into some vintage Raekwon and Ghostface. The chemistry is still there, they compliment each other very well. It has an old school feel to it. This is followed by Criminology 2.

NEW YORK (Billboard) - At just about any given moment of any given day -- including this sunlit June Friday afternoon -- Jay-Z is a busy man.

Sitting on a swivel chair at his Roc the Mic studios in downtown Manhattan with a glass of Santa Margherita white wine in hand, he tackles interview after interview with Japanese reporters, pausing only to use the restroom or ask his assistant to get him a refill or an order of food from his sports club, 40/40.

But while he handles his international duties, his Roc Nation team -- seven people, including his assistant, longtime publicist and engineers -- make sure his empire runs smoothly. His employees are scattered around the room, some perched on stools or couches, others standing or sitting on the floor, some with laptops before them. His assistant is booking flights, hotels and car service for the BET Awards, which is taking place that weekend; his publicist whispers on the phone about another magazine story.

Jay-Z, born Shawn Carter and raised in Brooklyn's Marcy Projects, is the first to admit he could not have achieved half of his successes on his own. But it's his overarching big-business vision and talent that have positioned him as one of the most well-known and influential artists of his time.

PAYING THE PREMIUM

Following in the footsteps of Madonna and U2, the 39-year-old rapper last year signed a 10-year, $150 million (91.8 million pounds) deal with the concert promotion giant Live Nation that includes touring, publishing and recording.

In May, Jay-Z parted ways with Def Jam, his longtime label home, at the cost of $5 million, but gained control of his future master recordings. In June, he signed a deal with Atlantic to distribute his upcoming, 11th studio album, "The Blueprint 3"; a month later, he signed a deal with Sony for all future Roc Nation releases.

"I still owed an album to Def Jam, but I wanted to have it back for a number of reasons, the most important being that it wasn't consistent with the type of business I planned for me or where I was positioning myself. Everything in my life I had taken charge of, but yet I was still an artist signed to a label. It seemed a little archaic in my plans," he says. "I've always prided myself on being a principled person. It was more so the principle than the amount of money. It was about owning my own masters and owning my own companies, but you have to pay for the privilege, and that comes at a premium."

NimbusCollective.com launches its 1st monthly Straight Cash Producers Beat Battle & Artist Showcase, on Thursday, July 9, 2009 at the Relapse Theatre in Atlanta, Ga. NimbusCollective.com will begin it's monthly Showcases from Atlanta, Ga with it's next stop in Detroit, Mi. The program will be a fraternization of rhythm, rhyme, and beats and will also feature artists selected from previous auditions to compete for cash prizes.

Michael Jackson’s funeral will be held Tuesday at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, according to KNBC and NBC News.

Randy Philips, president and CEO of AEG, told KNBC's Robert Kovacik that the service, which will be open to the public, will begin at 10 a.m. Arrivals are set to begin at 8 a.m.

According to Philips, the overflow crowd will be accommodated at Nokia Plaza where widescreen TVs will broadcast the proceedings inside.

I received a lot of new music this week and haven had to chance to listen to half of it. I definitely listen to the homie J Cole's new cd "The Warm Up". Ive been waiting for him to drop this for awhile and he did not disappoint. I can see this being in rotation for quite a while. Download Here and check out his site here.

I also received Curtis's new "War Angel" LP. Sigh......Cant really say I'm disappointed because i didn't expect much from it in the first place. i was hoping that he would be on some "aggressive content" shit, and at first i thought he was. Halfway through the cd he just loses interest and and you can tell. If the cd was just the 1st 6 tracks and maybe 1 or 2 of the later ones it would be great, but unfortunately it goes on about 5 or 6 songs too long. He says he will be putting out "Sincerely Southside" part 2 during 4th of July holiday weekend and i enjoyed part 1 so I'm looking forward to that. He says part 2 will be over songs from the nineties. He spoke with the 1515 boys here about that as well as some other things. Download "War Angel" at ThisisCurtis.
